Hello API members!
Flatstock 56 will be taking place at the Bumbershoot Music Festival in Seattle, WA from Friday September 2nd – Monday September 5th, 2016. This is an indoor event and after many years back in the Armory Food Court, we have been relocated to the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall just north of the Fountain.  Hours are Fri-Sun 1pm – 9pm and Monday 10am – 6pm.  There will be a dance stage and other visual arts programming in the room with us.
The Bumbershoot music festival runs Friday through Sunday.  Monday (Labor Day) will be an “Open to the Public” FREE day for locals to attend.  We are working with local indie station KEXP and Northwest Polite Society (marketing company) to secure some underwriting and advertising specifically to get the word out to the public about this day that may be too expensive for people which love attending Flatstock, but can’t afford to go to Bumbershoot.  Think families and people with money that they didn’t spend on tickets for the festival.
I’m working with Eric Carnell to do some events leading up to Labor Day weekend (week of) that may include a silk screen panel and gallery show for all the artists involved.
Registration will open Monday – June 27th, at 2PM Central Standard Time. Registration is accessible to current API members only, and you must log on to www.americanposterinstitute.com to register.
The registration fee for a single booth space is $375 and $700 for a double. The booth fee includes a table, chairs, and plastic netting to display your work.  The displays will consist of metal piping again, like last year.  Booth sizes will be 8 feet high, 6 feet deep, and 8 feet across the back with doubles being 16 feet across the back.
We are relying that at least 40 studios participate this year.  If you’ve ever been on the fence about coming to a Seattle Flatstock, this is your year with 4 days of sales in front of you along with a decent price for your booth.  Other vendors on the grounds are being charged $1500 for 10X10 tent space for 3 days.  After 40 artists/studios have registered, there will be a wait list.
PLEASE only register for Flatstock if you definitely plan on coming, and will be present at your booth for the full four days.
Each booth space includes vendor admission for TWO persons TOTAL (4 for a double), FridaySaturdaySunday & Monday. Your vendor pass allows you access to everything on the Seattle Center ground EXCEPT the Mainstages at Key Arena and Memorial Stadium due to these venues being occupancy driven.  If you would like to buy a pass, Bumbershoot will honor the early bird price for passes to all Flatstock vendors.
Once you have registered you must return payment no later than August 5th. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of your space, and a happy surprise for someone on the wait list.

Flatstock 55 in Chicago at Pitchfork Music Festival is CLOSED!

Presented by the American Poster Institute in conjunction with Pitchfork Media will be held at Pitchfork Music Festival, July 15 thru the 17th.

Flatstock 55 will be taking place at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, July 15-17, 2016. This is an outdoor event. We will be located in tents along the eastern end of Washington Ave., in Union Park, as before.

As long as you are a registered API member you may sign up to be a part of the party.

Hey guys, thanks for the patience, the wait is finally over…here’s the scoop:

Presented by the American Poster Institute in conjunction with Primavera Sound S.L., Flatstock FS54 will be held at Primavera Sound, June 1 from 6pm-12am, then 2-4, 2016 from 5 pm to 5 am. This year we will be having an optional day on Wednesday for those in town and want to set up and show early for the attendees of the free, smaller scale shows happening at the Parc del Fòrum that evening.

Flatstock 54 will be on the Parc del Fòrum grounds in Barcelona, Spain. Registration is open to all current API accredited professionals.

There will be 30 total single booths at a cost of Euro 281 or $320 US. With your paid booth fee you will receive two (2) passes good for the duration of the festival.

Flatstock 53 in Austin Registration is CLOSED

Flatstock 53, hosted by API and South  By South West, will take place in Austin, Texas Thursday, March 17 through Saturday, March 19. Registration will open January 7th at 1pm CST. You will receive your contract and further instruction from South by South West. Starting January 9th, please allow 3 business days for your registration to be processed. If you have used SXSW housing for lodging in the past you should have space allocated provided you send your contract and payment promptly. If you haven’t and intend to please let us know by sending a note to flatstock@sxsw.com

Flatstock 52 Hamburg Registration is CLOSED!

Flatstock 52 will take place September 23rd-26th 2015 in Hamburg, Germany, as part of the Reeperbahn Festival. Yes, it’s running for 4 days.

Opening hours: Wednesday 2 p.m. to 12 a.m. Sept . 23–25, 12p.m. to 12a.m. Sept. 26.

The registration fee for a single booth space is 200€ and 400€ for a double booth. The booth fee includes walls to display your wares, a table & 2 chairs. Double booths are available just make sure to pay with the double booth paypal button on the registration page.

We have limited space so PLEASE pay for your booth ASAP to secure your booth. Registration will not be final until the API receives your full payment. Registrants not paid by September 1st, 2015 may lose their space and the next applicant on the wait list will have a sweet opportunity to get in.

Registrations in excess of our allotted spaces will go on a wait list, in the order they are received. If you don’t get in at first, please don’t stomp off in a huff, get yourself on that list. Multiple artists come in from the wait list every year.

The registration fee for a 10’x10′ booth space is $450. The booth fee includes walls to display your wares, a table & 2 chairs. Double booths are available for $900 just make sure to pay with the double booth paypal button on the registration page.

Flatstock 50 Chicago is CLOSED!

Presented by the American Poster Institute in conjunction with Pitchfork Media will be held at Pitchfork Music Festival, July 17 thru the 19th.

Flatstock 50 will be taking place at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, July 17-19, 2015. This is an outdoor event. We will be located in tents along the eastern end of Washington Ave., in Union Park, as before.

You must be a registered and current member of the API in order to access the registration page and sign up for the fun.

The registration fee for a 10×10′ tent space is $425. The booth fee includes tent, table, chairs, and plastic netting to display your work.

We are limited to only 43 10×10′ spaces. Shared 10×10′ spaces are available and encouraged. If splitting a space, please indicate with whom, when you register. If you don’t have a partner in mind, we can help pair you up.

PLEASE only register for Flatstock if you definitely plan on coming, and will be present in your tent for the full three days.

Registrations in excess of of our 43 spaces will go on a wait list, in the order they are received. If you don’t get in at first, please don’t stomp off in a huff, get yourself on that list. Multiple artists come in off the wait list, every year.

You must have a festival pass or vendor credentials to enter the festival grounds and Flatstock.

Each 10×10′ single space includes vendor admission for TWO persons TOTAL, Friday-Saturday-Sunday. That means, for shared singles, you each get 1 pass. For you, only. Any other helpers need to buy a ticket.

Once you have registered you must return a signed contract, signed liability waiver, and payment no later than June 1st. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of your space, and a happy surprise for someone on the wait list.
